The Billion Star Experience: Sleeping Under the Desert Sky

A Night Like No Other
There is a moment, somewhere between the last ember of the campfire and the first call of a desert fox, when the sky reveals its true scale. The Milky Way stretches from horizon to horizon, and you realise that the stars were never something you look up at — they are something you are inside.
This is the Billion Star Experience, and it has been our signature offering for eighteen years.
Why Non-Touristic Dunes?
Most desert camps in Jaisalmer cluster around Sam Dunes, where the crowds gather and the silence is broken by engines and loudspeakers. We go the other way. Our camps are set up in private, non-touristic dunes deep in the Thar — places where the only footprints are yours, and the only light comes from the sky.
"The desert is a place of revelation, not escape. What you find here, you carry home."
What to Expect
- A jeep ride from Jaisalmer into the heart of the Thar
- A gentle camel safari through rolling golden dunes
- A freshly cooked Rajasthani dinner around the campfire
- Folk music under the stars — performed by local Manganiyar musicians
- A night in a comfortable, well-appointed tent
- Sunrise over the dunes with chai in hand
Eighteen Years of Perfecting the Night
Over the years, we have refined every detail — from the thickness of the mattresses to the warmth of the blankets, from the spice of the dal to the softness of the folk songs at midnight. We have welcomed newlyweds, solo travellers, families with young children, and retirees crossing off bucket-list dreams. Each one has left with something more than photographs.
The desert does not belong to us. We are merely its caretakers, and we would be honoured to share it with you.
